CIPL’s grants program appears to be quite successful. We received more than 50 applications in the last Spring/Summer Round. This meant so much work for the small jury consisting of profs. Eno-Abasi Urua, Jacques Moeschler and Fritz Newmeyer (chair) that we decided to expand the committee with profs. Victoria Escandell-Vidal (delegate of Sociedad Española de Lingüística) and Brigitte Bauer (delegate of the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, Nijmegen).
From 1 October, new applications for travel grants are expected. Advanced students in linguistics without a PhD are eligible to receive a once-only grant of € 500 to help fund their participation in a linguistics conference that will take place in another country than where the applicant resides. The deadline of this call is 15 November 2023.
CIPL awards five travel grants in each round. Two of the five grants are specifically intended for conferences organized by one of CIPL’s member organizations, or a conference co-organized by CIPL itself. Member organizations of CIPL that organize a conference, workshop or symposium are cordially invited to inform the participants of their conferences of this special arrangement.
